1. POT OF GOLD DIY

A quick and easy DIY you can complete in less than an hour! Gather or buy a bunch of different size rocks. Spray with metallic gold paint.
Fill a black pot with sand or gravel for stability and place the gold painted rocks on top.
Youā€™ll find pots in dollar stores around St. Patrickā€™s Day. Or raid your Halloween decorations for a cauldron. Cast iron campfire pots also work.

ROBIN’S TIP:

Are you hosting a party? Top off the gold rocks with gold foil candy and let visitors take a treat.

2. SHAMROCK TOPIARIES

Topiary pots that can be changed for seasons are a great investment. They also add symmetry to a front porch decorating scheme. So go ahead, bite the bullet, and buy some beautiful topiaries for your front porch. Youā€™ll be glad you did.

For St. Patrickā€™s Day, wrap ivy garland on the metal frame and tuck green mesh around the base. Finally, add a few green shamrocks. You can find these online or in craft stores.

ROBIN’S TIP:

To save money, use a tomato cage from a garden center instead of a topiary frame. Place the cage upside down in a pot and secure using sand or gravel. Twist the top together in the center.

4. BOXWOOD FLOWER POTS

Plain terra cotta pots are transformed with a whitewash finish. Use craft acrylic paint and sand down for a distressed look. Place round faux boxwood balls on top. Change the ribbon and adapt this project for other holidays!

ROBIN’S TIP:

Remember the decorating Rule of 3! Make a trio of pots for better design aesthetic.

5. AN IRISH BLESSING SIGN

Donā€™t forget an Irish blessing! Whenever possible, add a sign to your front porch. It draws people in and speaks for youā€“so make sure you love it! Most wood signs can be outdoors for a few weeks without damage. But just in case, a quick coat of polyurethane will prevent fading and wear.

ROBIN’S TIP:

Make your own sign! Print out an Irish blessing or put those handwriting and calligraphy practice sheets to good use and write one out. Use outdoor-safe mod podge and apply to a piece of wood or a picture frame without the glass (to prevent breaks).
