1. POT OF GOLD DIY

A quick and easy DIY you can complete in less than an hour! Gather or buy a bunch of different size rocks. Spray with metallic gold paint.
Fill a black pot with sand or gravel for stability and place the gold painted rocks on top.
You’ll find pots in dollar stores around St. Patrick’s Day. Or raid your Halloween decorations for a cauldron. Cast iron campfire pots also work.

2. SHAMROCK TOPIARIES

Topiary pots that can be changed for seasons are a great investment. They also add symmetry to a front porch decorating scheme. So go ahead, bite the bullet, and buy some beautiful topiaries for your front porch. You’ll be glad you did.

For St. Patrick’s Day, wrap ivy garland on the metal frame and tuck green mesh around the base. Finally, add a few green shamrocks. You can find these online or in craft stores.

ROBIN’S TIP:

To save money, use a tomato cage from a garden center instead of a topiary frame. Place the cage upside down in a pot and secure using sand or gravel. Twist the top together in the center.

3. EASY DIY ST. PATRICK’S DAY WREATH

Add a bow to a store-bought wreath for the quickest, easiest St. Patrick’s Day wreath. A grapevine wreath with neutral white flowers can be updated all spring and summer with ribbons and a few decorative accents. One purchase, many different wreaths!

4. BOXWOOD FLOWER POTS

Plain terra cotta pots are transformed with a whitewash finish. Use craft acrylic paint and sand down for a distressed look. Place round faux boxwood balls on top. Change the ribbon and adapt this project for other holidays!

Remember the decorating Rule of 3! Make a trio of pots for better design aesthetic.

5. AN IRISH BLESSING SIGN

Don’t forget an Irish blessing! Whenever possible, add a sign to your front porch. It draws people in and speaks for you–so make sure you love it! Most wood signs can be outdoors for a few weeks without damage. But just in case, a quick coat of polyurethane will prevent fading and wear.

Make your own sign! Print out an Irish blessing or put those handwriting and calligraphy practice sheets to good use and write one out. Use outdoor-safe mod podge and apply to a piece of wood or a picture frame without the glass (to prevent breaks).
