Memorial Day Poppies Wreath Ideas [Video]
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
The weekend’s almost here. I’m Robin with Front Door Friday.
Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor
the brave men and women who died
for our country. Using the poppy, we honor them today.
Today’s episode is especially meaningful to me. We’re creating poppy wreaths for
Memorial Day. I encourage you to gather friends and family and make a few of these wreaths to honor our fallen heroes.
We’re going to start with a regular foam wreath and then add your moss, using the floral pins that look like a little staple. I popped in the poppies and bent the stem
in whatever direction I wanted. It’s really nice. They’re full of wire so you can do that, and then just keep adding the poppies, and remember, it’s okay to show the moss. It’s actually kind of pretty.
And then, once all the poppies are in place, you can add your ribbon and don’t
forget a photograph of your favorite veteran.
Now I’m going to show you how to use the cemetery container and fill it with poppies. It’s very simple. Start with adding floral foam and then cover with the sheet moss. Use a few pins to hold in place and then just start popping in your poppies.
And again have fun with the stem. And then to finish things off, we’re going to add a bow. There you go.
Front door decorating is powerful. Use it to tell the world what you stand for. And don’t forget to check out this week’s article to learn the history of the Memorial Day poppies.
That’s it for this week’s Front Door Friday. I encourage you to step out and try some front door decorating this weekend. To learn more check out the Country Door Blog. And I’ll see you next Friday. Happy decorating and God bless.
