Weatherproofing Your Front Door [Video]

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

The weekend’s almost here. I’m Robin with Front Door Friday. Wherever you live, Mother Nature can wreak havoc on a front door. Today, let’s prepare for the worst.

It’s all about weatherproofing. First, let’s deal with drafts. It’s amazing how much tiny streams of cold air can steal your warmth. Use foam sealant to close up any little cracks along the doorframe, in the door, or around the sidelights. There are many options from this easy adhesive foam-sealed strip to vinyl and metal kits.

The vinyl gasket requires staples or nails for installation. The metal doorjamb kit uses screws. You’ll get longer wear out of the metal and vinyl, but it’s a little more time-consuming to install. That’s it for this week’s Front Door Friday. I encourage you to step out and try some front door decorating this weekend. To learn more, check out the Country Door Blog.

I’ll see you next Friday. Happy decorating, and God bless.
