Bring a Touch of Fall to Your Kitchen and Dining Room
Fall Decorating Ideas
Shorter days, chilly evenings and a bounty of gorgeous fall colors all provide the right inspiration for changing up dĆ©cor in the heart of your home ā the kitchen and dining room. Let these decorating ideas get you started on getting ready for the change of season.
Get Floored
Look to your feet for a great place to instantly add autumn color. An area rug with a sunny fall bloom or a touch of seasonal accent will set the right tone. A kitchen rug near the sink also adds relief for the feet when the cook has been busy whipping up something amazing.
On the Side
Channel your inner country charm with a kitchen sideboard where you can store your seasonal dinnerware. String a lovely fall garland across the top and finish with a fall-inspired bouquet.
Serve It Up
Make any meal feel right in season with a beautiful set of dinnerware that has an autumn flair. Change up your table linens and a pretty fall runner down the center of the table and youāve set the mood for an autumn feast.
Get Cooking
Mix up one of your favorite cake recipes and bake it up in an autumn wreath bundt pan. It pops out of the pan already decorated for the fall and looks as good as it tastes.
Slip Into Something Comfortable
Just like you change your wardrobe when you go from summer into fall, so can your dining room. Add a set of slipcovers to your dining room chairs and completely change the look and mood of your room. Think about changing your slipcovers as often as you change your tablecloths. The more sets you have on hand, the more often you can change up the look.
Get the Hang Of It
A fall wreath that reminds us of the bounty of the season doesnāt just belong on your front door. Consider hanging one on the wall in your dining room instead of a framed picture. Or hang several small wreaths within multiple window frames for a lovely accent.
Table It
Change up or add a table runner to make your dining room table look beautiful 24/7 and add that special fall touch even when itās not mealtime. Switch it out for fall-themed placemats or a simple tablecloth in one of the seasonās rich colors. The options can vary with every occasion.
Harvest Time
Fall accents are unmistakable with their multicolored leaves, bright orange pumpkins and stalks of corn. Not to mention the kaleidoscope of rich tones of rust, gold, brown and deep greens. Utilize this ready-made color scheme across tablescapes with centerpieces and floral baskets, and in garlands along window ledges or across hutches.
